Wilson A. Acuna was born in Colombia, and arrived in the United States in 2006 at the age of 17.  Fueled by his interest in Environmental Biology, Wilson enrolled at Borough of Manhattan Community College, and graduated with a degree in Science. A member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and a 2009 Peter Jennings Scholarship winner, Wilson was the only community college student selected to participate in an undergraduate research program at Tufts University during the summer of 2010. Currently, Wilson attends Tufts University where he majors in Conservation Biology. He is interested in the preservation of endangered species, and would like to impact the world's understanding of the negative effects of overdevelopment and population growth on living organisms. In early 2012, together with his Tropical Ecology class, Wilson will be taking a trip to the Costa Rican rainforest to perform conservation research.
