Ebony Childs'love for reading and writing came at an early age. After graduating from high school, Ebony held multiple jobs in order to support herself. She enrolled in Borough of Manhattan Community College(BMCC) and as an Accelerated Study in Associate Program (ASAP) student and was recognized for her dedication to academic excellence. Ebony graduated from BMCC in 2010. While at BMCC, Ebony became a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and the President and founder of the newly chartered human rights club RISE (Research in Societal Equality). Ebony spent the summer of 2009 participating in Vassar College's Exploring Transfer Program designed for community college students. Ebony transferred to Stanford University and is now pursuing a bachelor's degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and a minor in Creative Writing. Ebony plans to combine her reading, writing and photography skills with her love for the planet to expose environmental and human rights violations throughout the world. Although there are many paths she would like to follow, she is considering journalism and law, as well as entrepreneurship in green living.
