Veronica Nunez moved to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic just three years ago and is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Mount Holyoke College. She is majoring in Psychology and Education with a minor in Religious Studies. Veronica began her college career at Queensborough Community College where she completed a degree in Liberal Arts and Science in 2008. Veronica was active on Queensborough’s campus where she served as the president of that college’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and completed a summer child psychology program in Denmark. Veronica hopes to become a child psychologist and to establish orphanages for children in Latin America.
“When I first arrived in the U.S. three years ago, going to a top college did not seem possible; but now, because of support from Kaplan, I have a much better chance of transferring to a top school.” – Veronica Nuñez
