Norberto Taveras is a Hostos Community College student who serves as president of his school’s Disability Awareness Club, educating people on students with disabilities.  Passionate about helping others, Norberto’s career goals include advocating for people with disabilities, including launching a non-profit organization that donates wheelchairs and other equipment to disabled people who cannot afford them. Norberto has represented Hostos at CUNY’s Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK) and College Discovery (CD) Programs’ Leadership conference. He was awarded the CD Student Achievement Award last academic year and has worked on campus in the Services for Students with Disabilities office.  Norberto has gained admission to Quinnipiac’s BS/MS Occupational Therapy program and is awaiting other admissions news.
