Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) student and Dominican Republic native, Nolvia Delgado works as a legislative assistant for N.Y. State Assemblyman Vito Lopez and is a youth mentor to Latino teens. A Liberal Arts major in the Accelerated Study in Associate Program (ASAP) at BMCC, she is interested in a career in public service focusing on the needs of low-income communities. Nolvia has participated in the Latinas Learning to Lead Program in Washington, D.C. and Vassar College’s Transfer Program for Community College Students. Nolvia is also a Scholar in the CUNY Leadership Academy. She has been accepted to attend Mount Holyoke College and American University in the fall, among other four-year schools.
