Given the shortage of medical doctors in his native Togo,Komi Attitso is passionate about becoming a radiologist.Komi graduated with honors from theBronx Community College (BCC) with an associate's degree in chemistry.Today, Komi attends the University of Rochester(U of R) where he is seeking a Bachelors of Art in Biology with a minor in Public Health with an Epidemiology concentration while fulfilling pre-med requirements. At U of R Komi is a member of the Minority Association of Premedical Students. Prior to his transfer to BCC, Komi worked multiple jobs, often overnight, in order to support his family in Togo. In addition to his full-time job, he also worked as a Chemistry Lab Workshop Leader, where he tutors and assists students. Komi volunteered at combination nursing home/hospital for the elderly in the Bronx. Komi also spent a portion of this summer in Jamaica with the Organization for International Development assisting medical professionals with direct patient care. He was selected a as a member of the City University of New York's 2010 All Star Team due to his leadership and academic performance while at BCC, represented the BCC Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on the Inter-Organization Council, served as a Student Senator and received the Amadou Diallo Award, the Robert L. Clarke Award and a National Science Foundation Scholarship, all while at BCC.
