Born and raised in Kenya, Gary Waiyaki is a science major at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Gary believes that the lack of access to educational resources (nutrition, health, higher education/trade skills) is a major contributor to the many conflicts that exist within African countries and the world. He serves as a volunteer at Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn and is an active participant of the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program which provides resources and opportunities to students from low-income families and minority groups that are interested in the field of science. Gary is considering a degree in medicine or law.
